“On a hot day, Walton Ford is the place to be. Watching Angus lose his marbles in the river while Timber just flops down for a spa moment—it’s chaos and chill, all at once. There’s nothing like a splashy play session to cool everyone off (handlers included).”

Alex’s Training Tip: Consistency is your secret weapon. Make sure everyone in the family uses the same words and commands for each behaviour. If you say “down” and someone else says “off,” your dog will be as confused as you are when you can’t find your keys. Dogs thrive on clear, simple cues—especially when there’s a sausage involved.

You might not see me out on the walks as much, but trust me, I’m there in spirit—and on the spreadsheet! After a couple of whirlwind months, we’re finally getting back to normal. With summer holidays on the horizon, the organisation behind the scenes is next-level. Imagine juggling requests for July and August, planning our social media, and trying to keep everything on track before Tilly (our daughter and unofficial social media manager) decides it’s time for the next TikTok dance sensation.

It’s a bit like herding cats—if the cats were dogs, and the dogs were all trying to eat my lunch. But that’s what makes GJPS special: we thrive on the chaos, the laughter, and the little wins that come from working as a team (both two-legged and four-legged).
